Wall Hanging

Once again I purchased a less than beautiful picture frame from the local antique shop.  Sometimes I get in over my head and I thought this might be one of those times.  So I bought this frame that had 3 panes of glass and was covered in something that could only be described as GUNK!

I washed the frame down and decided to break out the middle pane of glass because there was no saving it.  It was just covered in caulk and grim.  In cleaning the rest of it I accidentally stepped on another pane of glass.  If you're doing the math...3 panes of glass - 1 pane - 1 more pane = 1 PANE LEFT!  I am a symmetrical person so this was bound to bother me!  Anyways it ended up working out just fine.  I painted it black and found this beautiful graphic on the internet:

I then used ribbon and attached some pictures frames to them as you see below.  It turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL piece of art that was an original idea!  Finished product!

Zebra Lamp

I made this lamp for a friend for her birthday present!  She is sooo into zebra and I couldn't find
anything in the stores that was good enough for her.

Plus, things are always better from the heart.

I simply bought a white shade and lamp and covered it with sheer zebra fabric.
I then edged it with black ribbon.

It turned out so cute and it was hard for me to let it go.  In the end she did love it!

Teacher Chair!

Guess where I got this chair...nope not a rummage sale...my other favorite place...ANTIQUE SHOP!

It was a piece of garbage before I got my hands on it.  I loved it for the scroll work on the back.
I'm still working on how to highlight it but for now it stays as is.

I painted it a soft yellow and found fabric to match.  I put it in my classroom and the kids loved it!

Nothing like a little 6 year old satisfaction to boost your ego! :)

Picture and Memo Board

Once again I used a frame from a rummage sale.  Clearly I'm pretty into picture frames :)
I spray painted it and then hot glued the string at the different
points behind the frame.  I bought cute little clothes pins to attach the pictures.

I also bought black ribbon to make my bow.

It turned out so cute and seems like it'd be a really great wedding present!

Marbled Glasses

I bought some cheap glasses at a rummage sale.  I used my stick-on foam letters again
and used the letters of my roommates names.  These were presents for my roommates.

I taped off the sides of the glasses so the marbling would only
go as high as I wanted it.

I then poured nail polish into water and used a toothpick to swirl it around.
You gotta be quick with this part or it will just clump.

You stick the glass into the marbling and carefully pull it out.  Let it dry and all done!

Crayon Art

This one is so great and easy to do!  I bought a LARGE box of crayons and hot glued them
on to a canvas.  I then attached stick-on foam letters.  I took my blow dryer and melted the crayons down.

The tricky part is making sure the crayon stays in the rainbow pattern
and doesn't fly off the canvas!

Mail Carrier

I found this old shutter at the antique shop and painted it.  I attached the letters, which
are vinyl cut out by my cricut, and tada!
